Coffee Fest PNW Canceled Due to COVID, Announces Variety of Coffee Focused Virtual Events & Resources

By: Holly Barrett

Tacoma, WA, August 13, 2020 – Clarion Events Food & Beverage Group has announced today that Coffee Fest PNW 2020, originally scheduled for October 24 & 25 is now canceled. This decision was made by the City of Tacoma as they have decided to cancel all events hosted at the convention center through November 2020. Both governmental direction and public health advisories related to the ongoing impact of the COVID-10 pandemic and the Gubernatorial Disaster Proclamation in the State of Washington influenced the decision.

“We see and feel the impact that this pandemic is having on specialty coffee businesses and restaurants – both now and in the future. While ultimately it was not our decision to cancel our event in Tacoma, we understand and believe that it is not possible at this time to safely host an event that brings people together,” said Erika Lowery, Portfolio Director for Coffee Fest. “Our hearts are with the specialty coffee community and we will continue to support it in as many ways as we can to ensure it successfully rebounds from this pandemic in time.”

Coffee Fest face-to-face connections are scheduled to resume with the following events:

  • Coffee Fest New York/ The International Restaurant & Foodservice Show of New York/Healthy Food Expo New York - March 7-9, 2021 at the Javits Center, New York City.
  • Coffee Fest San Antonio - June 18-19, 2021- at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, San Antonio, TX.
  • Coffee Fest Anaheim/ The Western Foodservice & Hospitality Expo/ Healthy Food Expo West - August 22-24, 2021 at the Anaheim Convention Center, CA.
  • Coffee Fest PNW 2021 dates in the Fall and location TBD.

“In light of the fact that large-scale gatherings are not possible, Coffee Fest is committed to providing tools and resources for specialty coffee businesses. Our team has been working tirelessly on ways to keep the specialty coffee community connected, engaged and supported, “says Lowery. “We are pleased to support the marketplace with several new ideas, including a new virtual event.”
