Coffee Fest announces three new equipment partnerships for their 2020 Coffee Fest events.

“Coffee Fest is excited to announce our new partnership with Rancilio Specialty. Their equipment has been a part of our show for years and when the opportunity arose to find a new equipment sponsor for the Latte Art World Championship Open (LAWCO) competition, Rancilio was our first choice. The support of their team and the reputation of their equipment in the barista and throwdown community speaks for itself. We look forward to this new chapter in the LAWCO competition and have already received a positive response from the barista community,“ cited Erika Lowery, Coffee Fest Portfolio Director.

Rancilio Specialty is the new 2020 equipment sponsor for the Latte Art World Championship Open – a focused competition featuring 64 latte artists in a three-day, head-to-head competition happening in New York, Chicago, Anaheim and Tacoma, WA this year.

The competition machine will be the Rancilio Specialty RS1. The unique steam system on the RS1 utilizes proportional valves, allowing baristas to electronically set steam delivery across multiple settings for regulated, replicable steam control. The different steam settings are helpful for steaming both large amounts of milk quickly and steaming small amounts with little to no waste in a busy cafe. The settings are controlled via touchscreen and the steam is activated by the steam lever, which has 2 settings per side. For the competition, the steam delivery settings will remain set at 70% and 100% for each side. Competitors can watch a virtual walkthrough video featured on Instagram to get familiar with working on the RS1.

Seeded competitors will have a chance to test drive the equipment at the LAWCO New York pre-qualifier event, March 7th at Firelight Studios in Brooklyn. Anyone who did not qualify through the application process will be able to compete in a throwdown, hosted by Espresso State of Mind, where the top four finishers will advance to the LAWCO competition happening at Coffee Fest New York, March 8-10 at the Javits Center.

Rancilio Specialty will also be exhibiting at Coffee Fest New York.

Andrew Bettis from Rancilio Specialty shares, “The Rancilio Specialty brand was launched in 2017 and represents an exciting new direction for the 92 year old company. We hope coffee professionals at Coffee Fest will get an opportunity to experience how the RS1's advanced tech makes it one of the most precise and easy to use machines on the market.”

Slayer is the new equipment sponsor for the free-pour latte art training classes. Students enrolled in the various workshops featuring latte art skills will have an opportunity to learn using two Slayer Steam EP’s. Attendees will be able to try out the Slayer Steam LP and a Slayer Single Group Espresso at Slayer‘s booth on the exhibit show floor at Coffee Fest New York.

“We truly relish the chance to have face to face interactions with people like this. They get a chance to dive into the machine and we in turn get the chance to pick their brains on what they like, don't like or what would make their coffee dreams come true––this is premium fodder for us to conceptualize what we are doing and how we can continue our mission to ‘Make Coffee Better’,” says Jacob Smithers from Slayer.

La Marzocco is the new equipment sponsor for the Hands-On Barista Training classes in New York. La Marzocco will also be exhibiting at Coffee Fest New York.

Coffee Fest will be in New York March 8-10 at the Javits Center, in Chicago June 26-28 at Navy Pier, in Anaheim August 9-11 at the Anaheim Convention Center and in Tacoma, WA October 24 & 25 for Coffee Fest PNW at the Greater Tacoma Convention Center.
