The safety and security of our attendees, exhibitors, sponsors, partners, and staff is our top priority at Coffee Fest Chicago. While much of our security infrastructure is working behind the scenes in conjunction with The Navy Pier Event Center, we are continuously reviewing and enhancing our procedures to ensure the safest experience possible for everyone.

Security measures and operational plans are in place at our events, including:

  • Badge/ticket verification
  • Uniformed security guards
  • Crowd management staff, signage and barriers, as necessary

To help us all stay safe and secure during the event, here are five key things you can do:

1. Remove Your Badge When Exiting the Event
While badges are required within the event space, please remove your badge when leaving the event space.

2. Stay Aware of Your Surroundings
Always remain alert, especially in crowded areas. Trust your instincts—if something doesn’t feel right, take note of it. If you see something, say something. Please report any suspicious activity immediately to event management or onsite security personnel.

3. Protect Your Belongings
Keep your valuables always close to you. For added security, consider storing important items in your hotel room or locked storage when possible.

4. Limit Cash and Use Secure Payment Methods
We recommend carrying only what you need in cash. For your safety, use credit cards or ATMs when possible, to minimize the risk of theft. Always keep your ID on you.

5. Enjoy Responsibly
Be mindful of alcohol consumption, especially in unfamiliar environments. Stay aware of your limits and look out for each other. When socializing at night, find a buddy. Avoid traveling alone.

Lost items are turned into the Navy Pier Guest Services Desk. The desk is located directly inside the west front entry doors to Navy Pier. If you have an idea of where you were at the time of your loss, it’s always best to check first with that location before going to the Guest Services desk.

Navy Pier has partnered with Chicago tech startup crowdfind to digitize the lost and found process. Search through the virtual lost and found bin, a visual inventory of found items. If you cannot locate your lost property, submit a general claim to make Navy Pier staff aware the item is missing. Tangible items will be held for 30 days, at which time it is donated to charity if unclaimed. Access the virtual lost and found.

If you notice anything unusual or suspicious, please report it immediately. You can alert event security or Navy Pier by calling the Security Office at (312) 595-5060.
