Foundational Coffee Roasting Skills is a practical workshop designed for aspiring and early-stage roasters who want a clear, working understanding of production roasting. This session covers drum roasting fundamentals including roaster anatomy, batch sizing, installation needs, and capacity planning. Learn about  machine control concepts such as roaster inputs, data logging, and real-time sensory cues.

Attendees will also learn how green coffee sourcing works, from building importer relationships to managing quality and risk. The focus is on real-world decision making and repeatable skills, giving participants the confidence to evaluate equipment, improve consistency, and make smarter roasting and buying choices.
