New to coffee? Start here. This beginner-friendly session is designed for industry newcomers and curious consumers who want to understand how coffee gets from the farm to their cup. Through a visual, lecture-style presentation and tastings, we’ll explore each step of the coffee journey.

What You’ll Learn:

Coffee in History: We’ll travel through coffee’s storied past, learning about the kingdoms it impacted and the revolutions it helped to inspire.

The Coffee Journey: From farming and harvesting to roasting and brewing - learn the full story behind your morning cup.

Specialty vs. Commodity: Explore what makes coffee “specialty” and why ethics, quality and sourcing matter for the future of the industry.

Taste and Learn: Sample a curated selection of coffees from regional roasters to experience differences in origin, processing, and more.

You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of the coffee supply chain, the language of coffee, and how these elements impact what’s in your cup - helping you sip with more confidence.
