The safety and security of our attendees, exhibitors, sponsors, partners, and staff is our top priority at Coffee Fest Los Angeles. While much of our security infrastructure is working behind the scenes in conjunction with The Los Angeles Convention Center, we are continuously reviewing and enhancing our procedures to ensure the safest experience possible for everyone.

Security measures and operational plans are in place at our events, including:

  • Badge/ticket verification
  • Uniformed security guards
  • Crowd management staff, signage and barriers, as necessary

To help us all stay safe and secure during the event, here are five key things you can do:

1. Remove Your Badge When Exiting the Event

While badges are required within the event space, please remove your badge when leaving the event space.

2. Stay Aware of Your Surroundings

Always remain alert, especially in crowded areas. Trust your instincts—if something doesn’t feel right, take note of it. If you see something, say something. Please report any suspicious activity immediately to event management or onsite security personnel.

3. Protect Your Belongings

Keep your valuables always close to you. For added security, consider storing important items in your hotel room or locked storage when possible.

4. Limit Cash and Use Secure Payment Methods

We recommend carrying only what you need in cash. For your safety, use credit cards or ATMs when possible, to minimize the risk of theft. Always keep your ID on you.

5. Enjoy Responsibly

Be mindful of alcohol consumption, especially in unfamiliar environments. Stay aware of your limits and look out for each other. When socializing at night, find a buddy. Avoid traveling alone.

Los Angeles Health & Safety Frequently Asked Questions

In the event of an emergency, our team is trained and ready to respond quickly. You will be notified via overhead announcements with clear instructions. There are numerous doors throughout the facility which lead to the exterior. Evacuation routes are clearly marked, and event staff will be on hand to assist you.

Our emergency plans are in place to keep everyone safe. If a full or partial evacuation is necessary, the alarm system will be activated, horns will sound, and emergency announcements will be made over the public address system. Everyone should follow the instructions provided in the announcement. If no announcement is heard, guests should take all personal belongings and evacuate quickly and safely via the nearest exit.

Please follow the evacuation safety steps below:

• Listen to instructions via the public address system or from LACC Public Safety Officers or event security personnel

• Remain calm and proceed in an orderly manner

• Leave the facility through the nearest exit as instructed. Evacuation routes are posted throughout the building.

• Do not attempt to use elevators or escalators

• Assist elderly and disabled persons

• Once outside, move away from the building

• Do not try to re-enter the building until an “all clear” message is given by LACC.

MUSTER POINTS

There are several muster points outside the convention center. A muster point is a unique and easily visible reference point where everyone should assemble immediately after evacuation for proper accounting and to receive additional instructions.

The evacuation zones for Coffee Fest are Zone 3 and Zone 4.

During the quake, duck, cover and hold in place under a desk, table or sturdy object; or stand in an interior doorway and brace yourself against the frame. Face away from any windows. Stay clear of tall objects that may topple over and watch for falling objects. Stay inside, do not evacuate unless directed to do so. After the initial shock, remain calm and prepared for aftershocks. Aid the injured and check for trapped people. Check the area for obvious hazards and damage and evacuate only if the area is unsafe. Use phones only in case of an immediate life-threatening emergency. Do not turn on or off any electrical equipment or lighting. Listen for an emergency evacuation announcement. Report conditions to the Security Command Center at ext. 3000 or 213 – 765 – 4605 and/or any employee.

If you need medical help, please approach the nearest Coffee Fest staff member who will direct you to the medical team and help you get assistance quickly or call the command center at x3000 or 213-765– 4605. Give your name, type of emergency and exact location when calling the 24-hour command center.

We’ll provide safety information through our mobile app, signage throughout the venue, and event communications.

If you've lost an item, please visit the event registration desk located in the concourse. For any assistance during the event, you can also reach out to the nearest staff member or LACC Guest Services: 213-465-6901. All found property should be turned into show management or guest services for processing. Every attempt will be made by guest services to reunite property with owners who will hold onto the items for several weeks and then donate them.

If you notice anything unusual or suspicious, please report it immediately. You can alert event staff or onsite security by calling the Command Center, x3000 or 213-765– 4605. We encourage everyone to stay vigilant and trust their instincts. Remember: If you see something, say something.
