Lani Kingston
Lani is best known as the author of several bestselling books, including "How to Make Coffee: The Science Behind The Bean" (now published in 13 languages); the newly released "Designing Coffee"; "Spill the Beans: Global Coffee Culture"; and "London Coffee". She's been featured in CNN, Tatler, Huck Magazine, Stylist, The Economist, and Keys to the Shop amongst others. She also teaches 'The Anthropology of Coffee' at Portland State University.
At Coffee Fest, Lani directs programming for education, seminars, panel discussions, and show floor venues. She also manages strategy, curation, design, and manufacture of Coffee Fest's in-house merchandise line.
For the last 10 years, Lani has been supporting coffee and food industry clients through her agency, Four Seasons of Food. Additionally, she creates food and travel content via her creative agency, Perigee Studio.
Her journey includes setting up MAST Chocolate’s London bean-to-bar chocolate factory, retail store, cafe, and wholesale program; senior management at Blue Hill at Stone Barns under Chef Dan Barber; judging for the UK’s esteemed Great Taste Awards; serving as Marketing Director for Prana Chai, and as Director of Business and Product Development for the founder of TWG Tea's food and beverage investment company in Singapore.
Lani holds a college qualification as a pastry chef and two Master's degrees in Food Studies and Education, alongside a Bachelor's degree in Multimedia. Originally from Australia, she now calls Portland, Oregon, home.
