In typical hipster fashion, Noli fell in love with matcha before it was cool, and he started his career with a Japanese tea company shortly before the first matcha boom. Born of southern sweet tea roots from his Texas upbringing, his time living in Japan brought familiarity with tea as a daily indulgence as well as the traditional tea of Japanese tea ceremony (matcha). Habit grew into interest which grew into passion. Now, he is one of the few outside Japan certified by the Japanese Tea Instructor Association.
