Paul Thornton
Paul started roasting coffee in 1982. He spent his career roasting, buying green, fostering direct relationships with growers since the early 2000's, and is an industry recognized founder of the Roasters Guild, former SCA Board member and is a former SCA President. Paul has participated as a cupping judge in numerous Cup of Excellence competitions, is Q Certified, and is a highly skilled coffee roaster and coffee commodity risk manager.
Paul owns Thornton Family Coffee Roasters (TFCR) in Beaverton, Oregon with his daughter Rachel, which they started in 2018. And employees 6 of his 8 children at their roastery where their 9 employees wholesale roast high quality light roasts and classic dark roasts for cafes, office distribution, and cold brewed coffee concentrate industries.
TFCR distributes their own brand and private label brands primarily in the Pacific Northwest, but also ships as far away as Boston and Miami.
