Tim Taylor is founder of Pedestrian Coffee – – a Chicago based roaster and retailer focused on sourcing sustainable and stellar coffees and presenting them in an approachable way to curious coffee drinkers.

Tim has worked in coffee since 2007 as a green coffee sourcer and roaster. In 2009 he began to learn the retail side of the business through owning and operating Ipsento Coffee for a decade prior to selling and starting Pedestrian. 

Since 2017, Tim has served on the board of the Cup of Excellence, a nonprofit that discovers and rewards coffee producers through a competition and online auction generating millions in premiums for coffee producers. 

In addition to developing his own cafes, Tim has helped open more than a dozen other coffee shops in Chicagoland through consulting with other entrepreneurs on concept, design, equipment, bar flow and training to set up them up for success. 

Tim is happily married and has four kids--three of whom work at Pedestrian in some capacity...and the fourth is wanting to as soon as she is old enough.
