Tom Bomford
Originally from Australia, Tom has been involved in the hospitality industry since 2006. After spending eight years in Melbourne, working as the Operations Manager for the Mulberry Group's roasting division—where he was involved in projects such as Top Paddock, The Kettle Black, Higher Ground, and Liminal—Tom moved to New York in 2019 to lead the coffee program at Black Fox.
Since joining the team, Black Fox has launched its in-house roasting project, an online webshop, and opened four additional retail spaces in Manhattan.
During his time in the coffee industry, Tom has completed his Q Arabica certification and maintained his calibration status since 2016. He has competed in seven Cup Tasters finals at the national level, with his highest achievements being second place in Australia in 2017 and second in the US in 2024.
Today, Tom oversees all retail locations at Black Fox as their Coffee Director and leads the roasting division as Head Roaster and Green Buyer.
